SPRING FEET

Spring has almost SPRUNG! In just a couple short weeks, it’s time to pack away the winter clothes and boots and bring out the fun, flirty sandals. Before you get too excited for the sunshine, put your feet first.

When the first warm day comes, don’t put them on right away. Shoe care on the inside is more important than the look on the outside. It’s a good idea to wipe the inside foot beds with a warm cloth. Excess sweat and dirt can linger on the foot beds and lead to fungus and infections.

Beat the winter blues by taking care of your feet with these great tips! By following this easy 10 minute process, you will have more pep in your step.

Soak – warm foot baths with epsom salt and teaspoon of coconut oil can cleanse and soften skin.

Exfoliate – An easy DIY exfoliator is equal parts sugar and olive oil that will ease dead skin

Buff – with a clean pumice stone, buffing around toes and heels can rid rough spots and calluses.

Trim – trim toes with proper tools that are clean and and file to shape. Improper trimming can lean to ingrown toenails.

Moisturize – foot lotions can moisturize and leave feet super soft.

When wearing sandals, be sure to apply sunscreen, especially if you are out in the sun for more than 30 minutes. Feet are very sensitive to the sun, so apply daily or as often as needed. Choose your sandals wisely! Like all shoes, fit is critical. Any slipping of the foot at the foot bed can lead to twists and falls.

Want to get flippy flopped? Avoid the $3 rubbery ones. Look for those that have arch support and don’t twist. Otherwise, you could become victim of fallen arches.
